The Raven Queen
The Raven Queen is generally considered one of The Twelve Lords of Delvionus and is a central deity in the Aversillian pantheon.
The name of the god of death is long forgotten, but she is called the Raven
Queen. She is the spinner of fate and the patron of winter. She marks the
end of each mortal life, and mourners call upon her during funeral rites,
in the hope that she will guard the departed from the curse of undeath.
She expects her followers to abide by these commandments:
✦ Hold no pity for those who suffer and die, for death is the natural end of life.
✦ Bring down the proud who try to cast off the chains of fate. As the instrument of the Raven Queen, you must punish hubris where you find it.
✦ Watch for the cults of Orcus and stamp them out whenever they arise. The Demon Prince of the Undead seeks to claim the Raven Queen’s throne.

Phenomena Associated With the Raven Queen
Ravens: The Raven Queen sees through the eyes of all ravens. She sends them around places of death to keep up her vigil.
The Shadow Fell: As with the Fey Wyld, the Shadow Fell is the closest dimension to the mundane world. The Raven Queen is its ruler and is disputed only occasionally by Orcus.
Followers of the Raven Queen
The Raven Queen is served by all Shadar Kai except those who have given themselves over to devils and demons. Effectively, she owns them. In the mundane world, the Raven Queen is served by two chivalric orders composed of clerics, fighters, and paladins. The Shadow Guard, composed of solitary warriors devoted to destroying powerful undead and the Vitae Maleficates: vampire hunters. Both groups are directed by the goddess. Most Shadow Guard believe that they are, individually, guided by the hand of the Raven Queen.
The Raven Queen’s Paradise
Souls do not migrate to the Raven Queen after death. Instead, they go to Delvionus. Instead, the Raven Queen controls the Shadow Fell, the place from which all undead energy originates. The Shadow Fell is a dark reflection of the mortal world and connects to it through places of death and human sadness (cemeteries, slums, and battlefields).

The Raven Queen answers desperate prayer from those in need of protection against undead. If immediate assistance is needed, she will send a magical agent of her will. Otherwise, she works through her mortal followers.
The Raven Queen expects all those whom she helps through desperate prayer to follow her quest against undead and directs them as her agent for a year and a day.

- Being healed back from negative hit points (minor)
- Healing someone back from negative hit points (major)
- Occasional animation of the dead (minor)
- Habitual animation of the dead (major)
- Defiling a graveyard (major)
- Robbing a tomb (minor)
- Harming a raven (minor)
- Consorting with powerful undead (major)
- Impeding an undead hunter in his or her duties (major)
- Using magic to extend lifespan (minor)
- Using magic to become immortal (major)
Types of Curses
The Fragility of Life (Chronic): The character dies if reduced to 0 hit points rather than -10.
Shadow of the Reaper (Chronic): The character takes maximum damage from natural causes (such as falling or poison).
A Grim Trade (Acute): Instead of the character dying, one of their compatriots dies.
A Glass Darkly (Acute): Next time the character is alone in gloomy place, they are transported to the shadow fell.
Wight (Acute): Unless the character can end the curse, they are transformed over a week long period into a wight.
Negative Magnet (Chronic): All undead from miles around know of the character’s presence and will do their best to seek him out.
Zombify (Chronic): The character looks like a zombie to everyone. The effect is purely cosmetic but dangerous nonetheless.
Ill Omen (Chronic): The character simply gives off an aura of total gloom. He or she may be followed around by ravens.
